Does anyone read this or look at my dA page anymore? I know I haven't been updating much for a pretty long time, I got lazy with scanning my prints and film. I have some that should be scanned and maybe added here, too. I also finally started doing a linocut, based on "Strolling Through The Gas". It's not coming out so great so far, but lino is about $2 for a piece of 4x6, so I can try again if it turns out really awful.
I lost my job a couple of months ago, and I'm getting pretty tired of wage slavery in general. I don't like having to spend time around "normal" people whose sphere of cultural experience amounts to top 40 radio and blockbuster movies, and I have a lot of trouble convincing such people that I actually want to kiss their ass for money, because I don't. Money is also getting tight. I really want to find other avenues of income, and selling prints here might become one of them.
So tell me.. if you are reading this, would you buy any of my photos as prints, and which ones do you think I should submit?

so it's been about five years since i last posted anything here. i've been unable to afford film processing all this time. i do have a digital camera, but i just don't feel like i can be as creative with it. but i have some surplus monies these days and can probably afford to get some film developed.. some of it has been in my camera for five years, and i hope the frames that i shot will still come out okay.
i also have a box full of prints that i should probably go through and see if any are worth scanning and putting up here.

A new medium
For a long time, I've been thinking of trying my hand at linocut. I bought a small piece of linoleum sometime last year, with an idea in mind but no vision for how to accomplish it. I wanted to make a linocut out of some of my photos. I've picked up some this photo transfer emulsion that'll help with transferring the image onto the linoleum, and just now found linocuts around dA to inspire some sort of idea for which of my photos to use. I just need a means of securing the lino so I can cut it.
Well, that was fun...
Now that I'm employed again, I can afford to have film developed! And so, you get my latest photos. If all goes well, I may even get myself a digital camera soon. I've got my eye on a certain Nikon model that's about $349. I mostly want to use it to learn to take better pictures on film, though.
I'd also really like to get some dark room equipment and develop my own medium format film, but that's a story for a time when I even have the space to put that kind of equipment.
It's been a long time, hasn't it?
I will have new photos soon, I promise. I just haven't had money to develop film lately. I also have a bad habit of leaving on the light meter on my SRT-202, so now I have to hunt down another battery for it.
I would also like to say that I am happy about the new dA changes. I can actually browse my deviantWatch list again, making it a task that is easily accomplished rather than one that feels like pulling teeth!
